Miller Equipment Gives a Smooth Ride to Boyd
Coddington's Aluma-Tub
Hot rod legend Boyd
Coddington is the subject of "American Hot Rod," a Discovery Channel
series that follows him and his La Habra, Calif. crew as they take
cars from concept designs to their unique, finished form. The series
gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look as Coddington fashions what he
refers to as "21st century hot rods," including one of his newest
creations, the Aluma-Tub.
|
|
Like its successors, the Aluma-Truck and Aluma-Coupe,
the Aluma-Tub is built almost entirely out of aluminum from its frame
and suspension to its brakes and body. Coddington and his crew relied
on Miller equipment to build the creation, including the Dynasty®
200 DX, the Syncrowave® 350 LX and the
Spectrum™ 375
plasma cutter.

Accu-Rated™
Peak Power: The New Standard for Welding Generators
When it comes to emergency situations or to your average, everyday
motor starting and welding applications, it's always important to have
a small engine-driven welding generator that will do the job. You want
to make sure that you have enough wattage to run your critical
equipment and tools, not to mention a generator that is reliable.
To help you with
your decision to purchase such equipment, Miller has developed Accu-Rated™
peak power, a new testing standard to ensure honesty and clarity when
comparing generators for purchase. |

it takes to run typical household appliances, equipment and tools.

Las Vegas Ironworkers Implement
New Welding Training Program
As part of an
effort to expand their skills and ensure more local work, Las Vegas
Union Ironworkers have constructed a 75-foot long aluminum dinosaur,
which will stand permanently outside the Las Vegas Natural History
Museum. Ironworkers Union Local 416/433, accustomed to Stick and flux
cored welding, were recently introduced to a variety of welding
processes, which generated more work for the Ironworkers and a giant
Argentinosaurus sculpture for the community.
In a city where
ornamental iron jobs are increasing, the Ironworkers can't afford to
limit themselves to one or two welding processes.
With the support
of the Ironworkers Union and Miller, who provided training, now, when
contractors come looking for help on a particular job, Ironworkers
Union Local 416/433 will be qualified. |

New Syncrowave® 250 DX with Integrated
Cooler is an Industry First

Miller has a new addition
to its AC/DC, TIG/Stick power sources--the Syncrowave®
250 DX, the industry's first product line to feature an optional
integrated cooler. The
250 DX offers Cool-On-Demand™
technology that operates only as needed to monitor coolant flow and
temperature. This feature prevents torch damage and increases
reliability by reducing unnecessary pump wear. Miller even backs the

Motorsports Expertise
Question 1: Beating
the Elements
I know MIG welding is not recommended for outdoor use, but if I weld
outside, can I just turn up the CFH to protect the puddle, or is 25 CFH
for 75% argon/25% CO2 the only setting?
Read Andy's answer. |
|
Question 2:
The Right Welder
I need help choosing a welder. I'm planning on making a welding table
and cart for myself. After that, I'm planning on welding mostly aluminum
things, so a machine that can accommodate these desires would be great.
Any input would be much appreciated!

Question 3: Automotive
Work
Which Miller product(s) do you recommend for welding roll cages,
stainless turbo systems and exhaust? I'd also like to weld some steel
body and do suspension work. Also, where is the best place to find good
pricing?
